Anne Morgan, born in New York City, grew up in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, where her parents, both classical musicians, were deeply involved at Tanglewood.  Anne’s musical training began at an early age and continued through her college studies.  She has a degree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock and did further studies as a voice major at Boston University.  She sang in the Tanglewood Festival Chorus for several years before moving to Atlanta in 1971.

Anne’s early years in Atlanta included her continued voice study with Irene Harrower and her participation with Robert Shaw in the ASO Chorus.  She edited the opera program for the annual Metropolitan Opera tours for five years and served on the board of the Atlanta Music Festival Association.

Her volunteer work led to a long career in not-for-profit advancement.  She established the first fund raising campaign for Saint Joseph’s Hospital in the early eighties and managed their foundation for eight years.  She became the Director of Development for the Goizueta Business School (then Emory Business School) in 1990.

Anne was named Head of External Affairs for the High Museum in 1993, overseeing the departments of development, marketing, community relations and community outreach.  There she led a team of gifted colleagues through a period of artistic and financial growth through 2000.

She has served on the board of the Atlanta Girls School and has been an active member of the Norman Rockwell Museum board, which she chaired for four years.  Anne is well-known as the model for Rockwell’s painting “Look Mom, No Cavities,” created for Proctor and Gamble’s Crest toothpaste campaign in the early fifties.

Anne’s connections to Emory include her aunt, Dr. Mary Lynn Morgan, who attended the University and served as a trustee for many years.  Her father, Mac Morgan, taught voice in Emory’s department of Music after his retirement from Boston University.  Helen Morgan, Anne’s mother, was very active with Emory’s Friends of Music.

Anne and her husband divide their time between Atlanta and Cameron, Montana, where they devote much of their time to fly fishing.  Anne has two sons, two step-daughters and six grandchildren.
