Vega Quartet 20th Anniversary Celebration @ Emerson Concert Hall

Fri., Sept. 12: The Vega Quartet celebrates its 20th season as Quartet in Residence at Emory- the first String Quartet to ever be based in Atlanta. They perform music of Beethoven and with pianist William Ransom, Schumann’s Piano Quintet.

Concert on the Quad!

Wed., Oct. 8: The annual “Concert on the Quad” features the All-Star Brass Quintet performing in front of the Carlos Museum on the main Emory Quadrangle. If you like, bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy the music while you dine alfresco!

Fri., Oct. 31: Celebrate Halloween with scary music- Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens and Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” Quartet- performed by the Vega Quartet and Julie Coucheron and William Ransom, pianists.

Fri., Feb. 20: Two of Mozart’s most beautiful works with winds- the Flute Quartet and the Clarinet Trio- will be performed by James Zellers, Jesse McCandless, pianist Elizabeth Pridgen, and members of the Vega Quartet.

Jason Kwak, piano

Fri., March 20: Pianist Dr. Jason Kwak performs and teaches around the world and is in residence at Texas State University where he is also Director of the Texas State International Piano Festival. Brahms’ great Sonata in F Minor will be performed.

Robert Koenig, piano; Vega Quartet @ Emerson Concert Hall

Fri., April 3: Canadian pianist Robert Koenig performs throughout the world to great acclaim as a collaborative pianist and chamber musician. He is Professor and Head of Collaborative Piano at the University of California Santa Barbara. In 2022, Koenig was appointed Artistic Director of the Palm Springs International Piano Competition. His summers are spent at the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp where he is Coordinator of Collaborative Piano.
