Beethoven & Bluegrass: Mark & Maggie O’Connor and the Vega Quartet

Sat. Sept. 25 @ 8 PM: The Vega Quartet performs Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 95, an original String Quartet by Mark O'Connor, and Mark and Maggie O'Connor bring the best of Bluegrass to Emory. Then the musicians join forces for a special finale.

Beethoven & a Big Band: Archduke Trio and Joe Gransden’s Big Band 

Sat. Oct. 30 @ 8 PM: Celebrate Beethoven's Birthday- a year late- with his great Archduke Trio performed by Helen Kim, Charae Krueger, and William Ransom; followed by classics and original tunes performed by Atlanta's rockin'est Big Band.

String Theory with Cho-Liang Lin & Friends: Mozart Duo, Brahms Sonata, Mendelssohn Octet for Strings 

Sat. Jan. 29 @ 8 PM: Musical America's "Instrumentalist of the Year" makes his Emory debut, joining the Vega Quartet, violinist Helen Kim, cellist Jesus Castro-Balbi (also making his Emory debut) and others for Mendelssohn's rousing Octet and more.

The Bach Bowl

Sun. Feb. 13 @ 4 PM: This annual one-hour concert before the Super Bowl will get you in the mood for the big game with two of Bach's most imaginative and engaging works, the Brandenburg Concerti #2 and 4, as well as a solo by Jens Korndörfer on the magnificent Wortsman Memorial Organ. Trumpeter Stuart Stephenson, flutist Christina Smith, the Vega Quartet and more also perform. You'll know the score in advance!

The Three Artistic Directors: Zuill Bailey, cello; Linda Rosenthal, violin; William Ransom, piano 

Sat. Feb. 19 @ 8 PM: These three musicians direct Festivals and Musical organizations from Atlanta to Alaska, and from Texas to New York. They join forces to perform Bach, Beethoven, and Shostakovich.

Juilliard String Quartet: Brahms Sextet in G Major with members of the Vega Quartet 

Sat. May 14 @ 8 PM: The ECMSA’s 29th season closes with one of Brahms’ most glorious works for six strings, performed by the legendary Juilliard String Quartet with members of the Vega Quartet.
